Quote for the Day
Service of fellow human beings is more needed than service to the Lord Himself. In fact, such service is equal to the service of God. That is the path of real devotion. For what greater means can there be to please God than pleasing His very own children? The Purusha Sukta speaks of the Divine (Purusha) as having a thousand heads, a thousand eyes and a thousand feet. This is to say, “All are He!” Though there is the mention of a thousand heads, a thousand eyes and a thousand feet, there is no mention of a thousand hearts! There is only one Heart! The same blood circulates through all the hands, eyes, feet and limbs. When you tend the limb, you are indeed tending the whole body. Similarly, when you serve your fellow beings, you are indeed serving God!

Summary of the Discussion
1.Hands that serve are holier than the lips that pray, Service is considered to be highest forms of spiritual sadhanas.
2.We should perform the service with respect and love.Swami himself says Love all and Serve all.
3.Service is the direct form of worshiping God and easy way of experiencing the Almighty.
4.Having Human birth is the highest virtue, we should utilize it well by indulging in service activities.
5.Service should be selfless and there should not be any pomp or show off. Service is an opportunity for the one who is rendering not to the one who is receiving it.
6.Should we render service with sacrifice or do it with in our comfort? Swamy says allocate 10% of our savings to Service.
7.Swami also says that we should donate items that are in usable condition.Never give away the ones that we ourselves cannot use. i.e. don’t donate fully used clothes, expired medicines etc.
8.Should we be judgmental while offering Service?.We can be judgmental sometimes but not all times. What if God is judgmental when giving things to us? So as long as we offer with pure heart, it should be fine.
9.Service is an opportunity for us, we should make sure to grab the opportunity whenever there is one.
10. Other forms of service are service through Thought(praying for someone else) and service through words(speaking sweet and consoling someone who are in mental agony)
